Please join us at Experitec in Chesterfield on Feb 18th where Len Laskowski of Emerson will review the SIS Safety Life Cycle with emphasis on potential issues that instrument engineers may need to deal with during the project development in designing, documenting and implementing SIS.  Len's vast experience on this subject will make this a truly unique and informative presentation.  Dinner is being graciously provided by Wayne Brinkman and Mike Olsen of Emerson.

Len Laskowski is a Principal Consultant at Emerson's Midwest Engineering Center in St. Louis with 45 year's of experience.  Len took early retirement from Solutia/Monsanto after 28 years as an Engineering Fellow, before joining Emerson in 2003.  For 12 years prior to retirement, he was the corporate issue owner for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) at those companies.  He is active on ISA's S84 committee and is Emerson's voting member.  He has developed numerous papers and co-authored IEEE, PIP, ISA standards the CCPS book on Safe Automation. Recently he authorized the section on SIS in the 6th edition on the "Process/Industrial Controls Handbook."  He holds a BSEE & MSEE from the University of Missouri - Rolla.  He is a PE, CFSE, TUV CFSE and US Patent Holder.  He is the Vice President of Missouri S&T Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineers.  He served as the Implementation Manager for the Americas for Emerson's Global launch of DeltaV SIS.  Since 2006, he has been heavily involved in over 30 BP SIS projects including the $10 Billion BP Whiting Refinery Modernization Project.
